Who We Are
  1. Our mission is to connect and empower economically fragile neighborhoods in the Bear-Glasgow area to help them thrive.

  2. Organized in 2002 by a resident steering committee from local low-to-moderate income communities and members of Pencader Presbyterian Church.

  3. PHCC has evolved into a strong local collaborative force for change that soon will include a multi-agency community service facility centrally located to serve residents of the Route 40 corridor.

What We Do

Using neighborhood-based community organizers and resident councils, and partnering with 34 nonprofit, governmental, and educational organizations that share our mission, PHCC helps residents develop the tools for change in order to:
    1. build a sense of community within and among our targeted neighborhoods;
    2. stabilize our low-wealth neighborhoods in the areas of accessible health services, children and family services, housing, and employment;
    3. improve residents’ life skills by coordinating a collaborative of organizations which offers an array of services and programs;
    4. enhance levels of communication between residents and police and their neighborhood managers, and
    5. help residents resolve personal and community issues.
